A Message of Aloha to Those Affected
It is heartbreaking to see the devastation caused by the wildfires on Maui and Hawaii Island. Aloha’s thoughts are with those affected by this tragic event. Our focus in the coming days, weeks and months will continue to be with both those affected and the recovery efforts.
Additional Methods to Provide Support
The requirements of our community, which has been affected by the Maui wildfires, are extensive and continuously changing. There are various options to contribute directly: through volunteering time, offering non-monetary contributions, or making financial donations to well-established organizations that have broad or targeted involvement in the relief endeavors. Any kokua is appreciated and will help those in need in these desperate times.
Hawaii Community Foundation Maui Strong Fund
The Hawaii Community Foundation established the Maui Strong Fund with the aim of providing assistance and aid to communities impacted by the wildfires in Maui. Funding will support evolving needs, including shelter, food, financial assistance, and other services as identified by our partners doing critical work on Maui.
American Red Cross of Hawaii
With more than 400 trained disaster workers responding to the wildfires in Hawaii, the American Red Cross is working tirelessly to deliver compassionate and equitable care to the many who are picking up the pieces following the heartbreaking wildfires in Hawaii. Alongside the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Red Cross is helping transition displaced residents from congregate shelters to hotels. This temporary solution will give families and individuals a comfortable and safe place to stay near their community while more permanent housing plans are developed.
